LONGi, a leading solar energy company, recently participated in the Energy Forum for Africa (EFFA) conference in Zambia, that took place in middle of September, showcasing its commitment to advancing solar energy solutions in Africa. The event brought together industry leaders, policymakers, researchers, and innovators to address energy challenges and opportunities in Africa.

During the conference, Daniel Wang, LONGi Africa Utility Product and Solutions Manager, delivered a presentation highlighting the company's expertise in providing tailored solar energy solutions for large-scale mining operations. Chris Ye, LONGi's Regional Utility President for Africa, joined a panel discussion on "Powering Production: Energy Solutions for Large-scale Mining in Africa," emphasizing that innovative solar solutions for mining are no longer experimental. "We're excited about the potential of solar energy to transform Africa's energy landscape," said Chris Ye. "Technologies like Back-Contact and products like LONGi's Hi-MO 9 modules are bankable, scalable, and built for the mining industry's realities."

A significant milestone was achieved on the last day of the event, September 12, 2025, when LONGi participated in a signing ceremony for a 46MW project, further solidifying its commitment to renewable energy in Africa.

The Zambian President's keynote address during the event underscored the importance of renewable energy in driving economic growth and development in Africa. "The ultimate goal of this conference is the generation and distribution of power," President Hichilema said. "We would like to see a checklist of specific deliverables at the end of these deliberations. For us, energy, and electricity in particular - is everything."

LONGi's participation in the EFFA conference and recent project signing highlight the company's potential role in Zambia's energy sector and its commitment to contributing to the country's sustainable development.
