There a worrying signs that fatigue has truly set in with regards the willingness of citizens to abide by Covid-19 restrictions being imposed by governments. The struggle is far from over, however, with infections surging in many countries, particularly in Europe. Hospital capacity has also come under strain again in several countries. There are also warnings of a second wave in South Africa, particularly as citizens let their guard down ahead of the summer holiday period. Photograph: Reuters
