Exploration and development company Argent Minerals on Wednesday announced substantial resource upgrade for the Kempfield silver deposit, in New South Wales.

The mineral resource estimate for all categories has been upgraded to 63.7-million tonnes at 69.75 g/t silver equivalent for 142.8-million ounces silver equivalent, an increase of about 12% from the previous 2023 resources estimate.

The deposit contains 65.8-million ounces of silver, 125.19-million ounces of gold, 207 402 t of lead and 420 373 t of zinc.

The overall silver ounces have increased by 54% to 65.8-million ounces, which equates to a 23-million-ounce increase in silver metal content.

“This exceptional new resource estimate cements the Kempfield project as second-largest undeveloped silver deposit in Australia,” said MD Pedro Kastellorizos.

He said the Argent technical team believed that the deposit had substantial potential for additional resource growth along strike, down hole plunge and depth.

“Argent will be planning the next phase of drilling within the Kempfield NW, Sugarloaf Hill, Henry’s and Golden Wattle zone area with a view to increasing tonnage and grade of the current resource estimation,” said Kastellorizos.

The silver content of the Kempfield deposit, in New South Wales, has grown by 54% to 54.8-million ounces, making the project now the second-biggest undeveloped silver deposit in Australia, reports ASX-listed Argent Minerals.
