TSX-V-listed Artemis Gold has removed all nonessential staff and contractors from its Blackwater mine site in central British Columbia.

This follows a wildfire evacuation order that was issued across a region that includes the Blackwater mine.

“The safety and wellbeing of our employees and contractors is always our top priority,” said CEO Steven Dean.

He stated that Artemis would support the project team in planning a prompt return to full-scale construction as soon as it was safe to do so.

The Blackwater mine, currently under construction, is about 160 km from Prince George. The first gold pour at Blackwater is expected before year-end.
