Lithium exploration company Azure Minerals on Monday announced that Tony Rovira has stepped down as CEO of the company.

This followed the company’s A$1.7-billion takeover earlier this year by SH Mining – a joint venture between Hancock Prospecting and SQM.

Rovira, who held the position of MD and CEO since the Azure listed on the ASX 21 years ago, was instrumental in the transaction with SH Mining.

On his resignation from the company, Rovira said, “I am very proud to have led a team that achieved so much for Azure and its shareholders.

“I am also pleased with how we are successfully integrating the Azure operations into SH Mining, and I wish Azure every success in the development of the Andover lithium project.”

The Andover project, in West Pilbara, Western Australia, is a promising project in the exploration phase.
