Pilot Crushtec launches seven products at bauma
Crushing and screening equipment supplier Pilot Crushtec launched seven products that are new to South Africa at the inaugural bauma Africa trade fair, held in Johannesburg from September 18 to 21, at the Gallagher Convention Centre, in Midrand.
Pilot Crushtec International CEO Sandro Scherf tells Mining Weekly that while the com-pany traditionally only announces two or three new products each year, the company has lived up to its advertising campaign that focuses on ‘going big’ and has launched a total of seven new products, weighing in at close to 450 t.
These include the Sandvik UJ540 mobile jaw crusher, the Sandvik US440i mobile cone crusher, the Sandvik QA451 mobile triple-deck double-screen unit, the Pilot Modular/TRIO MJ3042P jaw crusher plant, the Pilot Modular/ TRIO MJ4252 jaw crusher unit, the Twister-Trac VS350Evertical shaft impact crusher and the DoppiaTrac DR400 double roll crusher.
Also on display at Pilot Crushtec Inter-national’s 1 000 m2 display area at bauma Africa was the Rubble Master RM100 GO!, the Dust Fighter 7500 dust suppression system, the TowerLight VT Hybrid light-emitting diode and the TowerLight VT 8000-FH 9 m.
“Our ability to stage a complete display based entirely on new additions to the range shows the extent to which the brand is expanding,” says Pilot Crushtec International sales director Graham Kleinhans.
The Sandvik UJ540 mobile jaw crusher, which the company believes is the biggest mobile crusher that has ever been displayed in South Africa, weighs 97 t and took half a day to assemble at the bauma Africa venue.
The track-mounted UJ540 comprises a Sandvik CJ612 jaw crusher, a Volvo TAD 1355GE 409 kVa engine and a Sandvik SW1252H feed arrangement consisting of a feeder with grizzly, a bypass chute, a natural fines (NF) screen and an optional NF conveyor and a discharge conveyor with belt scraper, steering rolls and impact bars beneath the crusher.
Further, the UJ540 comprises two 24 V floodlights fitted on a mast for illumination at night, with the floodlights fitted on the screen, the conveyor, the generator set and the elec-trical cabinet.
The unit has a maximum feed size of 975 mm and throughput of up to 800 t/h.
Also on display was the Sandvik US440i mobile cone crusher, which features a Sandvik CS440 285 rpm cone crusher, a feed conveyor with 6 m3 rubber-lined feed hopper, a 245-ℓ-capacity lubrication tank and a Volvo D13 Stage 3B 315 kW engine.
The other Sandvik product on display – the track-mounted Sandvik QA451 mobile triple- deck double-screen unit – features a triple deck consisting of six 1.5-m-equivalent double screens, a 7.5 m3 hopper/feeder, a hydraulic folding oversized conveyor, a heavy-duty feeder conveyor, a fines conveyor and four hydraulic folding product conveyors.
The QA451 has a throughput of up to 600 t/h.
The Pilot Modular/TRIO MJ3042P jaw crusher plant consists of a 400 t/h single-toggle jaw crasher, a vibrating grizzly feeder, a skid frame, an independent prescreen and a discharge belt, while the Pilot Modular/TRIO MJ4252 jaw crusher unit comes standard with a 1 100 t/h single-toggle jaw crusher and optional extras, which include a vibrating grizzly feeder, a skid frame and discharge conveyor.
Examples of other products developed by the company also on display at bauma Africa included the electric TwisterTrac VS350E vertical shaft impact crusher and the DoppiaTrac DR400 double roll crusher, which were designed and manufactured at Pilot Crushtec International’s manufacturing facilities in Jet Park, Johannesburg.
The electric TwisterTrac VS350E vertical shaft impact crusher features four different rotor options, depending on the application, and has a throughput of up to 250 t/h.
The 34 t TwisterTrac VS350E also comes standard with a 6 m3 hopper and 1-m-wide load sensing variable-speed belt feeder and a 1.2-m-wide flat belting discharge conveyor.
