Company unveils new Land Cruiser at Mining Indaba
Light vehicle safety equipment manufacturer Minecorp will showcase its new range of safety products, which are specifically designed and manufactured for the Toyota Land Cruiser 79 (LC79) double-cab for the first time, at this year’s Investing in African Mining Indaba.
Minecorp research and development man- ager Angus McIntyre states that, as global mining and resources operators look to adopt Toyota’s new Land Cruiser, Minecorp has undertaken extensive research and development (R&D) to enhance the safety features of the LC79 double-cab and adapt it to meet the environmental and safety compliance requirements of the resources industry.
“Detailed R&D has created a suite of products to increase the safety of passengers travelling in the LC79 double-cab in harsh environments, while also making light vehicle compliance easier for fleet managers globally.
“Since last September, our R&D team has been designing, manufacturing and testing a range of products to complement and further enhance the safety performance of the new Toyota Land Cruiser double-cab,” he says.
Owing to the Land Cruiser’s popularity, Minecorp is aware that its customers buy or plan to roll out the LC79 double-cab as part of their fleets within the next three to six months.
“In addition, our single part ordering system will help reordering for the LC79 double-cab. This is a simple, consistent and efficient process for fleets anywhere in the world that creates fast and accurate ordering,” he explains.
McIntyre adds that it is important that the company continues to provide innovative and high-quality products that support new-to-market vehicles.
He further states that Minecorp uses computer numerically controlled technology in its manufacturing process to ensure consistent quality and globally compatible fit-outs.
Minecorp will release internal roll-over protection structures, a range of drop-side tray bodies, a lighting control system, floor mats and seat covers to suit the Toyota LC79 double-cab.
“Dual start and battery isolators, service boxes, towbars, lights on kit, bull bars and wheel and tyre upgrades are currently available,” he concludes.
