ASX-listed Fenix Resources has completed a private haul road connecting its new Beebyn-W11 iron-ore mine to existing infrastructure in Western Australia, paving the way for first ore shipments next month.

The 18-km road links Beebyn-W11 with the company’s Iron Ridge operations and Geraldton port, integrating the project into Fenix’s logistics network. Haulage is now set to begin as crushing and screening activities ramp up on site.

Fenix expects the new mine to contribute 1.5-million tons a year of high-grade iron-ore at a forecast C1 cash cost of A$77.5 a wet metric tonne free-on-board Geraldton. The company remains on track to reach a group production run-rate of more than four-million tons a year during 2025, combining output from Iron Ridge, Shine and Beebyn-W11.

To support increased logistics demand, Fenix’s haulage subsidiary, Newhaul Road Logistics, has opened a new workshop, office and wellness hub in Geraldton. “A state-of-the-art haul truck servicing and maintenance workshop, office facility and driver wellness hub has been opened in Geraldton,” the company said.

Beebyn-W11, located about 20 km from Iron Ridge, was secured under a 2023 agreement with Sinosteel Midwest, giving Fenix exclusive rights to mine up to 10-million dry metric tons from the broader Weld Range project. The deposit has a Joint Ore Reserve Committee-compliant mineral resource estimate of 20.5-million tons at 61.3% iron, and a reserve of 10-million tons at 62.2% iron.

Fenix said Beebyn-W11 is its third mining operation to be delivered “on-time and on-budget” following Iron Ridge in 2020 and the recommissioning of Shine in 2024.
