Former BHP exec appointed to Adriatic board
Europe-focused Adriatic Metals has recruited Laura Tyler, a former executive at the world’s top miner BHP, to its board.
Her appointment as a nonexecutive director is effective from July 1.
Tyler has 30 years’ experience in mining and is a specialist in technical, technology and safety applications for tier-one projects globally.
Her 20-year career at BHP between 2005 and 2024 included her role as the inaugural chief technical officer, focusing on digital transformation at the world’s largest listed mining group, as well as asset president, at Olympic Dam, chief geoscientist and chief of staff to BHP’s CEO.
She also garnered knowledge of polymetallic underground mining during her role as asset president of BHP’s Cannington silver/lead/zinc mine.
“Laura Tyler is a very welcome addition to the board, providing exceptional knowledge of not only the technical complexities of mining and producing from polymetallic orebodies, but also embracing and implementing the latest cutting-edge technologies in the mining industry,” said chairperson Michael Rawlinson.
“This unique offering, along with her understanding of the highest levels of safety, governance and diversity, aligns perfectly with Adriatic’s corporate ethos and focus on sustainable and modern mining in Europe.”
Adriatic focuses on the development of the Vares high-grade silver operations in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and exploration at the Raska base and precious metals project in Serbia.
