Former De Grey management team join Bellavista
ASX-listed Bellavista Resources has appointed Peter Canterbury and Glenn Jardine to senior financial roles as the company advances exploration at its Brumby project in Western Australia’s Edmund basin.
Jardine was MD of Pilbara gold explorer and developer De Grey Mining up until its $6-billion takeover by Northern Star Resources in May this year. Canterbury was De Grey’s CFO from 2021 until completion of the takeover.
Jardine has 35 years’ experience in the resources industry, spanning early-stage exploration through to multi-operational entities. He has taken projects from discovery through resource growth, feasibility studies, equity funding, debt financing, project development and operations. Other previous roles include COO of Azure Minerals, MD and COO of LionOre Australia and project manager and general manager of the Henty gold mine in Tasmania for Goldfields.
During his tenure at De Grey, Canterbury played a key role in securing A$1.2-billion in equity funding and A$1.1-billion in project debt for the development of the Hemi gold project.
His prior experience includes six years as CFO at Sundance Resources, where he also acted as CEO following the 2010 plane crash that killed the company’s board and chief executive. Canterbury later served as CEO of Bauxite Resources between 2013 and 2016 and as MD of Triton Minerals from 2016 to 2021. He currently sits on the board of Unico Silver as an independent nonexecutive director.
Bellavista said the appointments strengthened its leadership team as it progressed work at the Brumby project, part of its Edmund Basin properties on the border of the Pilbara and Upper Gascoyne regions.
