Hudson makes first bulk shipment from Greenland mine
The first bulk shipment of anorthosite from the White Mountain mine, in Greenland, has been loaded and is on route to a port facility in Charleston, South Carolina, TSX-V-listed Hudson Resources announced on Wednesday.
The ship is carrying about 14 400 t of GreenSpar 250 anorthosite product and 56 t of GreenSpar 90, which is a high-quality air-separated product from the low iron process plant dust collection system.
Hudson said that the GreenSpar 90 material would be used in further development of the paints and coatings markets and carbon-dioxide-free cement applications.
The ship is also transporting two Terex all terrain cranes (80 t and 55 tonnes) and three manlifts, which would be sold in North America.
The ship departed on August 20 and its sailing time to Charleston is about ten days.
During the ship loading, the process plant was shut down for general maintenance. During this time, new gear boxes and ancillary components for the Weir Minerals secondary high-pressure grinding roll crusher were installed.
