Integra names former SilverCrest exec as COO
Mining company Integra Resources has appointed Clifford Lafleur as COO, adding an experienced mining executive to its leadership team as the company advances its transition into a growth-focused precious metals producer in the US Great Basin.
Lafleur will assume the role in April.
Lafleur, a mining engineer with more than 25 years of experience, played a key role in the development and ramp-up of SilverCrest Metals' Las Chispas mine in Mexico, before the company’s $1.7-billion sale to Coeur Mining in 2023. Prior to SilverCrest, he held senior roles at Torex Gold Resources, where he was involved in mine planning and the construction of the El Limón Guajes underground mine.
“I am excited to be joining the talented Integra team at a unique inflection point for the company,” said Lafleur. “There are several catalysts on the horizon to add value and significant growth, including optimisation of the cash-flowing Florida Canyon mine as well as technical studies, development and permitting milestones for DeLamar and Nevada North.”
Integra president and CEO George Salamis said Lafleur’s appointment came at a pivotal time for the company following its acquisition of Florida Canyon.
“Integra’s rapid growth requires strong leadership and operational expertise,” Salamis said. “Cliff’s hands-on mining experience and deep understanding of mine optimisation will be critical in unlocking value at Florida Canyon while also driving disciplined development at DeLamar and Nevada North.”
Integra plans to release its 2025 operating and cost guidance mid-year after Lafleur joins the company and assesses ongoing mine optimisation studies at Florida Canyon.
