ASX-listed Mineral Resources (MinRes) has announced the resignation of independent nonexecutive director Justin Langer, effective August 6.

Langer, who joined the board in January 2023, cited increasing international obligations as the reason for his departure. Since taking up the board role, he has been appointed head coach of the Lucknow Super Giants in the Indian Premier League and, more recently, the London Spirit in England’s The Hundred competition.

These coaching roles, combined with his duties as a public speaker, Seven Network cricket commentator, columnist for The West Australian and board member of the West Coast Eagles, have required extended periods overseas.

“It has been a privilege to serve on the MinRes board during a period of significant challenges and change for the company. MinRes is a strong and resilient business with a high-performance culture. I have been inspired by the dedication, passion and commitment of its people.

“With my expanding commitments both in Australia and overseas, I am not in a position to continue to give the time and focus that I believe MinRes deserves. I thank Chris Ellison and the board for their understanding of my position and I look forward to observing MinRes enter its next chapter," commented Langer.
