Name of the Project
Mantoverde optimised (MV-O) project.

Location
Region of Atacama, in Chile.

Project Owner/s
The project is 70%-owned by Capstone Copper and 30% by Mitsubishi Materials Corporation.

Project Description
The capital-efficient brownfield expansion of Mantoverde’s sulphide concentrator will increase throughput from 32 000 t/d to 45 000 t/d of ore, providing incremental copper and gold production of about 20 000 t/y and 6 000 oz/y respectively, and extending the mine life from 19 to 25 years.

Potential Job Creation
Not stated.

Net Present Value/Internal Rate of Return
Not disclosed.

Capital Expenditure
$176-million.

Planned Start/End Date
Capstone estimates that the MV-O sulphide concentrator expansion construction will require about one year, followed by a ramp-up period in the fourth quarter of 2026.

The expanded sulphide throughput capacity of about 45 000 t/d of ore is expected to be sustained, starting in early 2027.

The company expects the construction and ramp-up of the oxide leach optimisation to require an additional quarter, with higher cathode production starting in the second quarter of 2027.

Latest Developments
MV-O was formally sanctioned for development following receipt of the DIA, or Declaración de Impacto Ambiental, environmental permit in early July 2025.

Key Contracts, Suppliers and Consultants
Not disclosed.
