The Queensland Resources Council (QRC) has congratulated Dale Last on his appointment as the state’s new Minister for Natural Resources and Mines and Minister for Regional and Rural Development.

Queensland Premier David Crisafulli on Friday unveiled his new Cabinet.

QRC CEO Janette Hewson said Last was responsible for Queensland’s “most important industry”. “The QRC looks forward to working constructively with Minister Last, whose own electorate includes one of Queensland’s major resources regions,” she stated.

QRC also congratulated Andrew Powell on his appointment as Minister for Environment and Tourism and David Janetzki as Treasurer and Minister for Energy.

“The resources sector is essential to the future energy mix of Queensland and globally, and we will continue our commitments to responsible mining and sustainable outcomes.”
