Orica appoints Vik Bansal chairperson elect
ASX-listed mining and infrastructure solutions provider Orica has appointed Vik Bansal nonexecutive director, with effect from August 15, and chairperson elect.
He will succeed outgoing chairperson Malcolm Broomhead, who will step down at the conclusion of the company's AGM in December.
“I am delighted to welcome Vik to the Orica board. With over 30 years of experience leading complex global industrial organisations, Vik has a strong record in driving strategic growth, innovation, operational excellence and performance improvements.
"His strategic expertise in engineering, global supply chain, sustainability and technology will bring invaluable insights to Orica’s growth strategy and manufacturing operations. I am confident that Vik’s experience will complement the board’s capabilities and contribute to shaping Orica’s future success,” says Broomhead.
“It is an honour to be appointed to the Orica board and a privilege to succeed Malcolm Broomhead as chair. Under Malcolm’s leadership over the past ten years, Orica has become a leading global provider of innovative technology solutions and services across the mining and civil and infrastructure sectors.
“As incoming chair, I am committed to generating long-term value for all our shareholders and will work diligently with the board and management to achieve this. I am excited to continue leading this remarkable company into the future,” comments Bansal.
Orica produces and supplies explosives, blasting systems, specialty mining chemicals, geotechnical monitoring and digital solutions and has a presence in Australasia, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, North America and Latin America.
