Patriot discovers new high-grade zone
Dual-listed Patriot Battery Metals has announced the discovery of a new high-grade zone at the CV13 spodumene pegmatite following the recently completed winter drill programme at Corvette, in Quebec.
The CV13 spodumene pegmatite is located about 3 km west-southwest of the CV5 spodumene pegmatite, which hosts a maiden mineral resource estimate (MRE) of 109.2-million tonnes at 1.42% lithium oxide (Li2O) inferred.
“To put it mildly, the team is very excited about this new high-grade discovery at CV13, which is open in multiple directions and broadens our view on potential in the area significantly,” said exploration VP Darren Smith.
He said the hole was the widest, most well-mineralised drill hole to date from CV13, and included samples over 5% Li2O.
“This discovery was made at the tail-end of the programme; however, we were able to follow up with multiple additional holes prior to breakup. We are eagerly awaiting the assay results from these follow-up drill holes as we work to refine the geological model ahead of a maiden MRE at CV13.”
The MRE is scheduled for the third quarter.
