P1000 has a targeted production capacity of up to one-million tonnes a year.

It includes the upgrade of the Pilgan plant’s concentrator and supporting infrastructure, which will significantly increase the Pilgangoora Operation’s total production capacity. The expansion is expected to improve economies of scale and lower future operating costs.

Potential Job Creation
During peak construction, 560 jobs were created on site. About 50 permanent operational roles have also been created.

Pilbara Minerals announced the completion of the project in January 2025.

Pilbara Minerals announced the completion of its P1000 expansion project in January 2025. The project was completed ahead of schedule and within budget.

Commissioning is under way, with the ramp-up to full capacity expected in the September quarter of 2025.
