Angolan national diamond trading company Sodiam will host an online rough diamond tender in collaboration with Trans Atlantic Gem Sales on April 19.

Viewings will take place between April 11 and 18 at Sodiam’s office in Luanda, Angola.

The sale exclusively targets Sodiam-registered customers that have proven expertise in diamonds, as the lots to be tendered comprise 18 diamonds in excess of 10.8 ct in weight, including three pink diamonds.

This will be the ninth tender organised by Sodiam, with past tenders having yielded a combined revenue of $211-million.

Sodiam’s marketed assortments originate from 17 kimberlite and alluvial production operations and cover the full spectrum of qualities in terms of sizes, models, purities and colours.

Last year Sodiam exported 9.9-million rough carats for a total value of $1.5-billion, at an average price of $158/ct.

Angola remains the world’s third-largest diamond producer in value terms.
