Spartan hits 1 093 g/t gold at Never Never
The assay records at the Dalgaranga gold project, in Western Australia’s Murchison region, are continuing to tumble the more Spartan Resources drills at the Never Never deposit, CEO Simon Lawson said on Tuesday, reporting “spectacular” new high-grade intercepts of up to 1 093 g/t gold.
New gold intercepts include 27.26 m at 6.64 g/t from 441.46 down-hole, including 2.36 m at 28.37 g/t and 4.22 m at 18.97 g/t; 11.10 m at 12.10 g/t from 444.90 m down-hole, including 5.10 m at 23.07 g/t and 0.28 m at 1 093 g/t; 9.5 m at 4.01 g/t gold from 570.5 m downhole, including 5.65 m at 6.23 g/t, 13.00 m at 4.18 g/t and 6.63 m at 7.21 g/t.
At the Ink Lode deposit, Spartan intercepted 0.82 m at 33.27 g/t gold.
“We have a fantastic orebody on our hands,” said Lawson.
“The fact that we keep hitting visible gold in drill-core and RC chips the deeper we go is also a great sign. It tells us that gold is present in the targets we are drilling and, while never a substitute for actual assays, it continues to reinforce that our exploration model is valid. When we see alteration and damage in the core that is always a great sign, but spotting visible gold is always a buzz for any gold exploration geologist,” he added.
With the latest assays validating the furthest extends of the Never Never resource and multiple drill rigs spinning across multiple targets, Spartan is applying statistical pressure to proven, high-grade gold geology. “We are working the numbers, closing the gaps, chasing down the leads and hunting those high-grade drill returns.”
