Supplier unveils new compressors

AFFORDABLE RELIABILITY The new range of air compressors offered by Tru Compressor Solutions provides affordable, durable and reliable solutions tailored for small-scale manufacturers
Air compressor supplier Tru Compressor Solutions has unveiled its new Africa Series screw compressor range, designed specifically for the African industrial market and comprising fixed-speed models and variable speed drive (VSD) models. The series will deliver “unmatched value, efficiency and local resilience”.
With the introduction of the range, Tru Compressor Solutions aims to effectively address a myriad of industrial challenges including mitigating high energy costs and reducing downtime owing to the maintenance required by small- and medium- sized enterprises (SMEs) when replacing old piston compressor technology with affordable screw compressors.
The Africa Series comprises fixed-speed models (A-40 to A-150) with robust compressors ranging from 40 hp to 150 hp, fitted with redesigned powertrains and cabinets to withstand tough operational environments.
With the 10 hp and 30 hp range, the company has introduced a unique VSD-only powertrain design, delivering high efficiency with lower running costs, describing this as “smart technology made accessible”.
The VSD models, being equipped with unique, efficient VSD-only powertrain architecture, deliver significant energy savings and reduced operating expenses.
“Both product lines are born from air compressor supplier Detroit Air’s over 20 years of regional expertise, alongside real demand from local business. Now scaled up for widespread production, the Africa Series embodies African ingenuity,” Tru Compressor Solutions sales director Phillip Botha says.
These compressors provide greater reliability for Africa’s industrial market, as the rugged cabinets and engineered powertrains are designed to thrive in harsh local conditions including heat, dust, and inconsistent power.
He adds that they also provide the ideal efficiency for SMEs, as the VSD models dynamically regulate the output to actual demand – significantly reducing energy consumption – making the models “well- tailored” for manufacturing, workshop and field operations.
Market-Driven Approach
In addressing market accessibility and supporting local growth, Tru Compressor notes that combining fixed-speed and VSD options across a broad capacity range (from 10 hp to 150 hp) allows for affordable, futureproofed solutions for varying budgets and requirements.
This is largely owing to its products being tailored to empower emerging businesses with industrial-grade compressed air, without their needing to compromise on reliability or efficiency.
“What started as a limited-release gesture of gratitude turned into something much bigger. The demand was instant, and the response was powerful. The Africa Series wasn’t just appreciated – it was needed, and so we listened, we scaled, and we committed to something greater.
“These machines are engineered for small businesses, crafted to be affordable without compromise and made to empower local manufacturing. They’re tough, dependable, and efficient – everything an emerging business needs to forge ahead,” Botha highlights.
Established in 2017 in Boksburg, Gauteng, Tru Compressor Solutions delivers end-to-end compressed-air systems, and this includes design, supply, installation, service, and 24-hour breakdown support. The company specialises in piston and rotary screw systems for industries ranging from mining to food and beverage.
The company specifically caters to industries, such as medical, polyethylene terephthalate packaging, pharmaceutical and green technologies, where air quality and environmental sustainability are paramount.
