Tivan appoints Hatch to review Speewah
PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Critical minerals company Tivan has appointed engineering group Hatch to conduct an engineering review on the prefeasibility study of the salt roast processing pathway for its Speewah vanadium/titanium/iron project, in Western Australia.
Tivan in July this year announced plans to switch its focus from its Mount Peake vanadium/titanium/iron project, in the Northern Territory, to the Speewah project, saying it would be prioritising the development planning as the core mission of the company.
The company at the time announced a timeline that would see a scoping study on the project take place in 2023, followed by prefeasibility and feasibility studies in 2024 and 2025 respectively.
“We are delighted to partner with Hatch as Tivan moves deeper into our implementation phase. Hatch is the premier engineering firm in the vanadium sector worldwide, and recognises the unique opportunity that Tivan has with Speewah,” said Tivan executive chairperson Grant Wilson.
“Our like-minded teams are excited to commence this important collaboration and to be advancing a project of enduring significance to the energy transition and to Australia.”
The scope of Hatch’s engineering review would include an evaluation of the detailed project scoping work previously completed by Tivan, as well as previous engineering studies and testwork reports, preparation of a basis of design for the project ahead of a prefeasibility study, and confirmation of the beneficiation and salt roast flowsheet to progress into a prefeasibility study and the definition of any testwork required for beneficiation and salt roast processing.
