Australia-listed Vital Metals, which owns the Nechalacho rare earths project in Canada, on Monday announced two key appointments.

Richard Crookes has been appointed chairperson, having served in that position on an interim basis since February.

The company also appointed Lara Iacusso as its CFO. She was previously a partner of Deloitte Corporate Finance and is the former CFO of ASX-listed Oklo Resources, which merged with B2Gold in September 2022.

“Along with the recent appointment of Dr Geordie Mark as our managing director and CEO, we now welcome Lara Iacusso to the team as our chief financial officer, bringing more than 30 years of financial advisory experience, particularly in the mining and exploration sector,” commented Crookes.

He added that these appointments provided Vital with the “well-rounded skillset” required to assess development options at Nechalacho.
