ASX-listed Yari Minerals has appointed coal geologist Courtney Taylor as executive director and incoming MD, as the company advances its flagship Rolleston South coal project in Queensland’s Bowen basin.

The appointment forms part of a leadership succession plan aligned with Yari’s strategy to progress Rolleston South into future feasibility studies, with Taylor to be based in Brisbane.

Taylor brings extensive coal industry experience, having worked across the full resource value chain at major global miners including Anglo American, Vale and BHP. Her background spans exploration, project delivery, regulatory compliance and technology initiatives across coal assets.

Yari says the appointment strengthens its technical leadership as the company moves into the next phase of development at Rolleston South, which is located in one of Australia’s most established coal-producing regions.

As part of the succession process, long-serving MD and CFO Anthony Italiano is stepping down after more than seven years with the company. Italiano played a key role in Yari’s transition into the coal sector, including the acquisition of the Rolleston South project, securing funding and overseeing the initial drilling programme.

The board has thanked Italiano for his contribution and confirmed that he will assist during a transition period to ensure continuity.
