ACG Metals appoints former US Secretary of State Pompeo as nonexec director
London-listed gold and silver miner ACG Metals has appointed Michael Pompeo as nonexecutive director.
Pompeo is a former US Secretary of State, bringing to the board geopolitical and legal experience. He also founded a successful aircraft parts manufacturing company called Thayer Aerospace.
Pompeo also served as a US House of Representatives member for Kansas between 2011 and 2017.
His appointment is part of a strategic partnership ACG signed with Impact Investments, where he is the executive chairperson. Impact is a US-based financial advisory and investment firm which advises some of the world’s leading companies across a range of industries and geographies.
Impact will, through the partnership, assist ACG as it pursues its plan to become a leading global copper company serving the US and Western industrial markets.
ACG currently produces about 34 000 oz/y of gold and 361 000 oz/y of silver from the Gediktepe openpit mine, in Türkiye, which it acquired in September last year.
