ASX-listed Altamin has appointed Peter Edwards as nonexecutive chairperson and reappointed former executive Geraint Harris as director and incoming CEO as the Australian miner reshapes its leadership to support its European growth plans.

Edwards, executive chairperson of the Victor Smorgon Group, replaces Alexander Burns, who has resigned along with nonexecutive director Marcello Cardaci

“It is only natural that the board should evolve in alignment with Altamin’s strategic objectives,” Edwards said. “This board renewal meets the goal of attracting the right mix of skills to guide the business toward achieving its long-term vision, while maintaining continuity of governance and retention of corporate memory.”

Harris, who previously led Altamin’s development of the Lazio and Gorno projects in Italy, will take over as CEO on September 1. He will receive A$60 000 in director fees and a proposed grant of 10-million options, subject to shareholder approval at the company’s AGM.

Interim managing director Stephen Hills will return to his previous role as CFO, FD and company secretary. Altamin is also proposing to issue him 2.25-million performance shares, subject to shareholder approval.
