At Electra Mining Africa 2024, AxFlow AQS Liquid Transfer will showcase its latest innovations in liquid handling solutions. With over two decades of experience, the company has established itself as a leader in the Southern African pump industry, serving sectors such as mining, agriculture, industrial and utilities.

"Electra Mining is a crucial platform for us to highlight our commitment to excellence and innovation," says MD Leon Fourie, adding that the company is “eager to showcase our latest technologies and solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers across various industries”.

Founded in 2003, AQS Liquid Transfer has seen steady growth. In 2016, AxFlow, a division of Axel Johnson International and Europe’s largest distributor of positive displacement pumps, acquired a majority stake in AQS. This partnership has significantly expanded the company’s product range and enhanced its service capabilities.

Fourie highlights AxFlow AQS’s diverse range of specialized pump solutions tailored for various industries. The Vega peristaltic pumps, AQS' own home brand, complement their positive displacement pump offerings, while their diaphragm pumps excel in handling viscous, abrasive and corrosive liquids. The company represents global brands such as Sandpiper, Versamatic, Vega Pump, QUANTM, and ABEL Pumps.

AxFlow AQS also offers a variety of borehole pumps suitable for domestic, agricultural, mining and bulk water supply applications, delivering up to 2 000 liters a minute with dynamic heads up to 457 m.

“We’ve carefully selected centrifugal pumps in different sizes, materials and configurations to match site conditions,” Fourie notes.

In mining, operational efficiency in harsh environments requires heavy-duty end suction centrifugal slurry pumps, vertical spindle pumps and submersible pumps. These pumps ensure effective handling of abrasive and corrosive materials.

“From portable pumps to heavy-duty installations, we cover applications ranging from dirty water to mining slurries with a specific gravity of up to 2.4,” says Fourie.

AxFlow AQS's air-operated double diaphragm pumps deliver versatile, reliable performance for mining, efficiently handling abrasive slurries and solids with excellent chemical resistance and self-priming capabilities.

For the industrial sector, AxFlow AQS provides a wide range of pumping solutions, including centrifugal and positive displacement pumps. This includes the newly launched electric double diaphragm pumps, designed for applications where compressed air cannot be used.

Sustainability Commitment

AxFlow AQS prioritizes sustainability and customer service, offering solar pumps that reduce carbon emissions and boost energy efficiency. This aligns with global sustainability efforts and reinforces the company's commitment to responsible business practices.

“Our customer-centric approach drives our success,” says Fourie. “We build lasting partnerships by providing tailored solutions and comprehensive support throughout our products’ lifecycle. Our technical facility enhances our ability to meet diverse customer needs.”

With a focus on quality, customer satisfaction and sustainability, AxFlow AQS stays ahead in technology and maintains high standards, positioning itself to tackle industry challenges and grow its market.

“We're excited about future opportunities,” concludes Fourie. “Our goal is to continue delivering excellence in liquid handling solutions across Southern Africa.”
