Atlantic joins the International Lithium Association
Africa-focused lithium exploration and development company Atlantic Lithium, which is working towards development of Ghana's first lithium mine, has become an associate member of the International Lithium Association (ILiA) – the global trade association for the lithium industry.
The ILiA is a nonprofit association based in London. Representing the entire lithium value chain, the association aims to be a voice and global authority for the industry and support the sector’s efforts to supply high-quality lithium sustainably and responsibly.
Run by and for its members, the ILiA facilitates greater dialogue within the industry and helps its members efficiently and effectively address challenges across the sector.
“We are delighted to now be a member of this important industry body. The ILiA has achieved so much in only a short period through its efforts to promote and support companies across the entire lithium value chain. Joining the association enables us to promote our activities wider within the sector and benefit from extensive knowledge that is shared between members.
“The association’s vision closely resonates with our own ambition of supplying high-quality lithium sustainably and responsibly. Membership comes at an exciting time for Atlantic, as we advance the Ewoyaa lithium project, in Ghana, through studies and permitting," comments Atlantic executive chairperson Neil Herbert.
ILiA secretary general Roland Chavasse describes the Ewoyaa project as an exciting lithium spodumene concentrate project that is on track to become the country’s first lithium-producing mine.
"The company hopes to be a trailblazer in Ghana, leading efforts to establish itself as a major player in Africa’s EV supply chain. We look forward to following and supporting Atlantic's progress as it nears first production in the coming years,” he adds.
