Australia-listed Belararox has announced a binding agreement to acquire a large, 4 286 km² exploration package in the Kalahari Copper Belt of Botswana.

The Kalahari Copper Belt hosts several significant deposits, including Sandfire Resources’ Motheo copper mine, MMG’s Khoemacau mine and Cobre’s Ngami copper project.

Of particular interest is the Khoemacau operation with its satellite deposits as these are located 30 km along strike from the project licences that Belararox is acquiring.

“We believe there are more to discover,” says exploration director Jason Ward.

The company states that it will move to rapidly develop the project towards the goal of a discovery.
