BG Global increases its equity interest in MCS to a majority 76.83%
Mining Consultancy Services (“ MCS” ) is thrilled to announce the successful conclusion of an extensive transaction process, resulting in the acquisition of an additional equity interest in MCS by BG Global (Pty) Limited. With this strategic move, BG Global now commands a majority equity share of over 75% in the esteemed tech provider. This transaction not only cements BG Global's position as a key player, but also elevates MCS to the status of a Level 2 BEE empowered company and supplier.
Originally headquartered in Brisbane - Australia, MCS has been at the forefront of technological innovation since its inception in 1988. MCS is an underground & surface technology company with an established international reputation for its ability to maximize value in producing mining operations. MCS achieves this through production optimization, using unique technology systems, process, and monitoring capabilities. Our planning tool creates realistic targets by considering planned and unplanned downtimes, works orders and tasks and the subsequent impact on safe production. Up times come from monitoring mining equipment such the continuous-miners, shuttle cars, roof-bolters, feeder-breakers, conveyors, LHD’s, draglines, shovels, drills, trucks, loading area (bins) and plant/conveyors. Downtimes and other production related issues are derived from the use of Android Application for IS hand-held devices. Modules include, labour, equipment, delays, production, checks, tasks, supplies (audits) and messaging.
BG Global's initial investment in 2023 paved the way for a deeper understanding of MCS's unique value propositions and they have recognized the immense potential MCS brings to the mining and minerals marketplace. This strategic investment aligns perfectly with BG Global’s overarching goal of maximizing value & impact and to provide high quality service for our stakeholders.
Banzi Giyose, the incoming Chairman and Director of MCS, expressed his immense confidence on the conclusion of the transaction, stating that, "This investment decision underpins our commitment to driving operational excellence and delivering tangible results for MCS’s clients."
Moving forward, MCS seeks to maintain its position as a cutting-edge technology provider, while it continuously optimizes and refines its product offerings to meet the evolving needs of its mining and industrial clients.
As we embark on this exciting journey together, BG Global reaffirms its dedication to fostering innovation, driving growth, creating sustainable jobs and creating lasting value.
According to one of MCS’s key clients, Seriti Coal, Chief Operations Officer Raymond Makgota, “MCS has made a significant value proportion in being part of delivering and enabling Seriti’s two underground sections to reach millionaire status and we continue to strive to reach more across other sections.”
