Australian gold miner Black Cat Syndicate is scaling up its land position around the Big Sarah gold prospect within its Paulsens gold operation, adding about 460 km² of tenure to reach a total of 3 650 km² through tenement acquisitions and pegging.

The newly secured ground includes Cheela (E08/3272), which is anchored by rock chips grading up to 32.32% copper, along with Silent Sisters (E08/3163), which shares geology with the Mt Clement antimony deposit, and New Morning (E08/3808), pegged over a historic drill and geophysical anomaly.

Reconnaissance sampling at Big Sarah has identified three vein corridors extending about 15 km in strike and up to 100 m in width. Within the Central Vein Corridor, a 4 km zone of gold-bearing quartz veining has returned historical and recent results including 24.51 g/t, 20.98 g/t, 7.65 g/t, 2.91 g/t, 1.75 g/t, and 1.71 g/t gold.

“Big Sarah is set to get bigger, and we are excited to be adding to our prospective tenure with three new tenements straddling known gold-bearing structures. The exploration team has been busy conducting reconnaissance work around Big Sarah and have identified three laterally extensive vein corridors with strike extent up to 15 km, including a 4- km-long zone of undrilled gold anomalism,” said MD Gareth Solly.

The acquisitions significantly bolster the company’s footprint across the Barring Downs and Nanjilgardy fault zones, which host Big Sarah, Paulsens, and Mount Olympus deposits. Completion of the Cheela and Silent Sisters tenements is pending statutory approvals and assignment of existing agreements.

At Cheela, the acquisition from Cazaly Resources includes a project with a 2 km copper anomaly and multiple untested bedrock conductors identified through 2023 VTEM surveying. Silent Sisters, known for historical lead/silver production (273  t  lead at 68% and 116  t  silver at 160 g/t), sits along the Nanjilgardy fault and may offer dual exploration upside in lead/silver and antimony.

New Morning is positioned along strike with Cheela’s copper anomaly and hosts a VTEM bedrock conductor coinciding with geochemical gold anomalies not yet drilled.

Black Cat plans to start drilling at Big Sarah in the September quarter, leveraging the expanded tenure and strong structural targets to step out along known mineralisation corridors.
