Global asset manager BlackRock has acquired additional securities in Valterra Platinum, taking its shareholding to 6.35%  of Valterra's overall shares in issue.

Valterra, previously Anglo American Platinum, listed on the JSE on May 28. Its shares have also, with effect from June 2, been admitted to trading on the LSE.

Valterra was demerged from Anglo American, which is reshaping its portfolio to focus on copper, premium iron-ore and crop nutrients. The Anglo group still holds about 19.90% of Valterra's shares in issue, but plans to eventually sell that shareholding.
