Botswana has renewed two of London-listed Botswana Diamonds’ prospecting licences  – 224/2007 and 169/2019 – for two years until December 31, 2026.

The licences include the KX36 discovery, as well as several high-grade geophysical anomalies where authorisation has been granted for drilling.

KX36 is a 3.5 ha kimberlite pipe with an indicated resource of 17.9-million tonnes of 35 carats per hundred tonnes (cpht) and 6.7-million tonnes at 36 cpht – inferred – at $65/ct.

The company says the new kimberlite targets have potential to upgrade this resource.
