ASX-listed Canyon Resources has appointed Kudzai Mtsambiwa CFO effective January 15.

He will also assume the role of company secretary and manage the group's investor relations.

Mtsambiwa's appointment comes as Canyon advances its Minim Martap bauxite project, in Cameroon, towards production.

He will support the financing function of the business, including negotiations relating to rail and port access agreements, the completion of a revised bankable feasibility study, progressing discussions with various parties on potential offtake agreements and progressing financing opportunities.

Mtsambiwa has over a decade of experience as a Chartered Accountant and is an experienced CFO, having worked as CFO at ASX-listed Coda Minerals for four years, and as group financial controller at ASX-listed Perseus Mining.

Canyon chairperson Mark Hohnen says his extensive experience across finance and operations in African jurisdictions will be a significant asset to the executive team.

"The appointment of Mtsambiwa comes at an exciting and pivotal time for Canyon, as key development activities at Minim Martap are set to accelerate this year, and his expertise will undoubtedly contribute to our continued success.”
