The Johnson Tract critical metals project in Alaska has been accepted as a “covered project” under the US federal FAST-41 permitting framework, owner Contango ORE reported on Tuesday.

The designation, the company explained, would bring clearer timelines, stronger inter-agency coordination and greater transparency as the project advanced toward development.

The Federal Permitting Improvement Steering Council approved the project’s inclusion this week.

Johnson Tract s a polymetallic (gold, zinc, copper, silver, lead) project located near tidewater, 200 km southwest of Anchorage. The property includes the high-grade JT deposit, a newly discovered Ellis Zone, and at least nine other mineral prospects over a 12-km strike length.
