Canadian junior company Denarius Metals has generated its first revenues during the second quarter ended June 30, after production got under way at its Zancudo gold/silver project, in Colombia, in April.

During the early production phase, which is expected to run until the first quarter of 2026 when the company's new 1 000 t/d processing plant is expected to go into operation, mined material is being crushed on site and then shipped to a local port for sale.

In late June, the first shipment of 64 t of crushed material from the Zancudo project was loaded and transported to port where it was sold to Trafigura. With grades averaging 9.4 g/t gold and 184.5 g/t silver, the material in the first shipment contained about 19 oz of gold and 377 oz of silver.

Revenue for the second quarter totalled $49 000.

With an average realised gold price of $3 303/oz sold and total cash cost of $2 260/oz of gold sold in the first shipment, the company generated a margin of $1 043/oz of gold sold.

Denarius points out that the frequency and quantity of shipments from the Zancudo project will continue to increase over the next few months as the company ramps up its mining operations.

In July, the company delivered a total of 266 t of material to port with grades averaging 8.7 g/t gold and 224.1 g/t silver, containing about 74 oz of gold and 1 913 oz of silver. Payable ounces from July's shipments amounted to 48 oz of gold and 639 oz of silver.
