The original business was founded in 1998 as Industrial & Marine Sealing Systems (IMSS) by our CEO, Stel Stylianou.

The core focus of this business, operating from a 750m2 warehouse, was supplying marine based products to ship chandlers as well as other goods, including personal protection equipment (PPE), to industrial distributors nationally.

From this humble beginning, the company has grown into a leading wholesaler of PPE and related products, many under the DROMEX brand, which has become synonymous with quality, competitive pricing and on- time delivery. Our warehouse capacity now stands at 35 000m2 with modern receiving and dispatch facilities at the New Germany premises.

Dromex is an active member of various SABS technical committees, a member of SAPEMA and SAIOSH.

As an organisation that embraces diversity, Ukhuphepa 4 U is an enterprise development company created
by Dromex in 2015 that will be an end user supplier of PPE with the same on-going support, mentorship and expertise of the Dromex Team.

Quality Standards: We carefully select our suppliers, which enables DROMEX to import products certi ed to international standards from ISO 9002 accredited companies around the world.

Service: Our service and ercely competitive pricing strategies result in often unparalleled levels of value for money and drive DROMEX products through a loyal group of large and medium distributors throughout South Africa and Africa.

Advice & Training: With extensive experience in various elds requiring PPE, DROMEX is able to provide on-site PPE evaluations, advice and training. Technical back
up and distributor training is available at the DROMEX support centres in Durban and Johannesburg.

Innovation: New Products and innovations are continually being added to the range, and quality is reviewed on an on-going basis ensuring we o er the best possible specialist services to meet the ever changing demands of the PPE market.
