FB Crane Builders & Repairs
Customer-focused overhead cranes and lifting equipment manufacturer FB Crane Builders & Repairs (FB Cranes) has been manufacturing equipment for the Southern African market since its establishment in 1992.
With a staff complement of 80, FB Cranes strives to provide customers with the best products and services specific to their needs and considers itself to be a preferred lifting equipment supplier to the Southern African region.
A unique combination of products and services are offered for the manufacture and maintenance of overhead cranes and related lifting equipment by this SANS ISO 9001:2008-certified organisation. The company’s new cranes department produces an average of 70 cranes a year, while its 24-hour maintenance team members are all qualified lifting machinery inspectors (LMI) with LMI certificates.
With a consistent focus on product development, FB Cranes has witnessed the development of its own in-house branded products, Amandla/TBM steel wire rope hoists and Amandla electric chain hoists.
In recent months, FB Cranes has been contracted to work for State-owned freight logistics group Transnet subsidiary Transnet Rail Engineering, Johannesburg-based locomotive solutions provider DCD Rolling Stock, large diesel engine supplier MAN Diesel & Turbo, minerals processing and maintenance company Minopex and manganese miner Tshipi é Ntle Manganese. They have also installed 14 cranes in the Democratic Republic of Congo and recently received a large order from diversified miner Glencore.
“We have taken what we believe to be revolutionary steps in our industry when it comes to people and business development. Our workforce comprises skilled, competent and motivated managers and employees, and our customers buy from us, owing to our high service level, competitive prices, 24-hour availability, extensive industry knowledge, and sales and technical support,” says company MD Mathew Best.
FB Cranes is based in Gauteng at 378 Bergvlei road, Wadeville, Germiston – where it operates from a 4 500 m2 factory. It also has a 900 m2 area branch in Rustenburg at 95 Heefer street.
