The Canada-Africa Chamber of Business will be holding the fifth Canada-Africa Business Conference in Windhoek, the capital of Namibia, on February 5. The conference will have a strong focus on mining, energy, infrastructure and sustainable development, and will see the participation of investors, senior executives, policymakers and institutional partners from across Africa and Canada.

“Namibia has built a strong reputation as a jurisdiction where mining investment can be undertaken responsibly, transparently, and in partnership with government and communities,” explained Country Manager of B2Gold Namibia John Roos. “The Canada-Africa Business Conference provides a valuable platform for practical dialogue between operators, investors, and policymakers, helping to advance projects that contribute to long-term national development, which we are pleased to support.”

The conference will include sector-specific discussions, senior-level panels and private roundtables. The aim is to speed up investment, support the responsible development of projects, and in particular reinforce collaboration between Namibian businesses and international partners.

Namibia’s growing strategic importance in global mining was cited by MineAfrica Inc co-founder and president Wayne Floreani, who will be attending the conference. He also pointed to the opportunities beyond mining, created because of mining’s role as an economic catalyst.

“I’m looking forward to participating in the conference in Namibia because it represents one of Africa’s most compelling investment destinations for the mining sector,” he affirmed. “We have had the pleasure of showcasing Namibia during [the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada conference] in Toronto each year along with Canadian miners active in the country including B2Gold, Koryx Copper, Northern Graphite and Namibia Critical Metals. I look forward to welcoming Canadian companies who wish to join the conference as our guests, by contacting the Chamber or myself directly.”

Namibia already enjoys a reputation for long-term policy stability, sound governance and regulatory certainty. By hosting this conference, affirms the Canada-Africa Chamber of Business, the country is strengthening its position as a regional hub for both responsible investment and international business dialogue. The event, which will be broadcast live, will also strengthen commercial ties between Namibia and the Canadian private sector.
