TSX-listed Foran Mining said on Thursday it had temporarily withdrawn non-essential personnel from its McIlvenna Bay project site in Saskatchewan following a regional wildfire evacuation order.

The company said all nonessential workers and contractors had been demobilised as a precaution. A small team of essential staff would remain on site to ensure the safety and security of the project.

“The safety and wellbeing of our employees, contractors, neighbours and the community remain our highest priority,” said executive chairperson and CEO Dan Myerson

“We are working closely with the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency to actively support our site team and ensure a safe, orderly, and effective return to full operations at the earliest appropriate opportunity. We are deeply grateful for the support received to date, and we will provide updates as the situation evolves.”

All personnel had been accounted for, and the company said it was planning for an orderly and timely resumption of full construction activities.

The McIlvenna Bay project, located within the traditional territory of the Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation, is part of Foran’s broader exploration and development portfolio, which includes the Bigstone Deposit located 25 km south-west of McIlvenna Bay.
