London-listed Gem Diamonds, which owns and operates the Letšeng mine, in Lesotho, recovered 24 461 ct of diamonds in the fourth quarter of 2024, taking full-year production to 105 012 ct.

Although lower than the 109 656 ct produced in 2023, output was higher than Gem's revised guidance of producing between 98 000 ct and 101 000 ct in 2024.

Gem recovered 13 diamonds weighing more than 100 ct from Letšeng in 2024, compared with five in 2023.

Four diamonds greater than 100 ct were sold in the fourth quarter of the year.

The miner sold 26 356 ct at an average price of $1 223/ct in the fourth quarter. This contributed to full-year sales of 109 967 ct at an average price of $1 390/ct.

Full-year sales were higher than the 104 520 ct sold in 2023, as well as exceeding the revised sales guidance of 100 000 ct to 103 000 ct.
