Name of the Project
Havieron underground gold/copper project.

Location
Paterson province, in the East Pilbara region of Western Australia.

Project Owner/s
Dual-listed Greatland Resources.

Project Description
Havieron is a world-class, brownfield, high-grade underground gold/copper deposit, with considerable mine development already completed.

Gold and copper production are estimated at 266 000 oz/y and 96 000 t/y respectively over an initial 17-year life-of-mine. This includes nine-years at steady state.

Total production is estimated at 3.53-million ounces of gold and 130 000 t of copper.

Havieron will employ a sublevel open stoping mining method with paste back fill of primary stopes to allow for mining of secondary stopes, to maximise mining inventory and production rate, and to minimise operating and capital costs.

The mine design comprises 12 independent mining sequences – six panels, separated into east and west – based on horizontal and vertical mining fronts. Ore will be hauled by truck to Greatland’s Telfer operations and processed through the 20-million-tonne-a-year Telfer mill, taking advantage of the existing infrastructure and similar flowsheet requirements of the two ores, minimising capital expenditure (capex).

Potential Job Creation
Not stated.

Net Present Value/Internal Rate of Return
The project has a pretax net present value, at a 5% discount rate, of $4.24-billion and an after tax internal rate of return of 22.5%

Capital Expenditure
Preproduction capex is estimated at $1.07-billion, with expansion capex estimated at A$673-million (largely self-funded).

Planned Start/End Date
The development schedule for the completion of Havieron’s development depends on receipt of primary environmental permits, with the receipt of primary environmental permits targeted for the 2026 financial year.
