IGO appoints new chief people and sustainability officer
Lithium miner IGO has appointed Suzanne (Suzy) Retallack as chief people and sustainability officer, succeeding Sam Retallack on September 15.
Suzy was most recently chief safety and sustainability officer for Newmont, where she was also responsible for corporate affairs for Newmont Australia.
“Suzy’s leadership and experience is very well suited to IGO as we pursue our renewed strategy. Suzy has substantial experience in the mining industry and deep passion for people and sustainability. I am delighted that she has chosen to join IGO at this pivotal time,” said IGO CEO Ivan Vella.
He also wished Sam well in her future endeavours, stating that she had been instrumental in helping IGO make the transition from a gold business to one with a focus on battery materials and the energy transition.
“Sam has been a passionate driver of our organisational culture and leaves a significant and highly regarded legacy in IGO. It has been a pleasure to work with Sam, and I wish her continued success.”
