IGBT-based inverter design revolutionises furnaces
TECHNOLOGY-DRIVEN EFFICIENCY By leveraging advanced technology, the company has eliminated the need for water-cooled leads for induction power up to 350 kW
ECO-FRIENDLY These furnaces deliver energy efficient operations, fast smelting times, emission-free performance and low noise pollution
With the mining industry relying heavily on efficient and reliable furnaces for various metal processing applications, US-based heating contractor Electroheat Induction says that electric-powered furnaces have become the “preferred choice”, owing to their reliability, efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
They are “specifically designed for furnaces, kilns, ovens and dryers in the mining industry”, says Electroheat Induction manager Charlie Parsana, who adds that the company has introduced “innovative features that set its furnaces apart from the competition”.
One of the key features of Electroheat Induction’s furnaces is its insulated gate bipolar transistor- (IGBT-) based inverter design.
The company has domestically developed its IGBT inverter technology.
“By harnessing the power of IGBT technology, we have achieved remarkable furnace efficiency while minimising electrical losses. The result is superior product quality, improved performance, and increased customer satisfaction,” Parsana says, noting that Electroheat Induction continues to invest in research and development.
“By leveraging this advanced technology, we have successfully eliminated the need for water-cooled leads for induction power up to 350 kW,” Parsana says.
He explains that this breakthrough not only increases overall furnace efficiency but also reduces maintenance requirements.
Parsana notes that the company has a commitment to delivering high-quality products that “align with customer requirements while remaining competitive in the market”.
However, as the mining industry embraces sustainable practices and strives to reduce emissions, energy efficiency has become a top priority.
Induction furnaces, such as those offered by Electroheat Induction, have gained popularity, owing to their sustainability benefits.
These furnaces deliver energy efficient operations, fast smelting times, emission-free performance and low noise pollution.
“By choosing Electroheat Induction’s induc- tion furnaces, mining companies can contri-bute to a greener future without compromising on productivity or performance,” Parsana adds.
Collaborations with mining companies further enhance Electroheat Induction’s ability to innovate and provide comprehensive solutions tailored to the mining industry’s unique demands.
Looking ahead, Parsana notes that the company is committed to expanding its furnace capacity to meet the growing needs of the mining industry.
