Investing in Mining Means Investing in the Future
The world of mining is changing – and it is changing fast. Driven by the global challenges of the energy transition and decarbonization, the mining sector is ever more important for the green transformation and affected by several trends at once. The 17th MiningForum in Berlin, Germany´s international networking conference for the mining and raw materials community, will tackle these topics on June 6-7.
As raw materials are at the beginning of every value chain, they feed innovation and technology that will help achieve the global sustainability goals. Securing a reliable and unhindered access to the most in-demand raw materials in a responsible way is therefore a major challenge.
Meeting the challenges of availability, diversification and supply security makes continuous investments in mining both a necessity and an enormous opportunity. This is because a reliable stream of investments enables the mining sector to extract the minerals needed for the sustainable and digital transformation. In view of the high demand for raw materials, private and public investors interact within a highly complex investment environment.
Therefore, the #MiningForum dedicates a whole panel to discussing the current and future investment situation. Dr. Sven-Uwe Schulz (@Deutsche Rohstoffagentur, DERA), as well as Detlef Gürtler and Edda Wolf (both @Germany Trade & Invest, GTAI) debate demand and supply risks and opportunities in international mining. Dr. Jan Klasen (@KfW Bank) and Tatiana Dzhumurat (@European Bank for Reconstruction & Development, EBRD) share their insights into financial instruments currently in place on the German and European level respectively.
Join 400 experts to discuss the future of the mining industry in 27 sessions and panels with more than 80 speakers.
