Japanese tractor brand extends into construction sector
Kubota tractors are widely used in the South African farming sector and the Japanese company is now also making inroads into the local construction sector with its new EK110 Xtreme extendable reach tractor-loader-backhoe (TLB).
The company maintains that its TLB offers superior durability and reliability at lower initial and after sales costs than comparable reach TLBs, asserting that its machines are up to 30% more affordable.
The Kubota machines are designed to be fuel efficient with easy-to-maintain engines. In addition, after-sales service is supported by a large dealer network in the country.
Distributor Smith Power Equipment also offers financial packages that can be compiled for contractors and equipment operators, in an effort to facilitate the affordable purchasing of construction equipment.
The Kubota EK110 Xtreme is described as a versatile TLB for use in general construction, trenching and lifting applications, and other uses. It is supplied with a six-in-one loader bucket that can be used as a blade or for lifting, scraping, levelling or loading, and can also be opened up to be used as a grab. It features a 105 hp Perkins engine that is designed to provide enough power to lift extra heavy loads and to power the backhoe which has the added benefit of being extendable up to an additional 2.4 m for extra deep excavations and longer reach. In addition, the boom has a standard third function for the operation of accessories such as rock hammers.
