Cobalt and nickel producer Jervois has formally ended the divestment process for its Nico Young project, in New South Wales, Australia, citing volatility in the nickel markets.

Jervois, which also has operations in Finland, Brazil and the US, has historically invested more than A$20-million in Nico Young.

The company says the project remains a strategic source of Western nickel and cobalt should differential ESG and pricing standards be applied by customers or governments in future.
