As a South African wholly owned supplier of vibratory equipment solutions to the African mining industry’s mineral beneficiation market, Joest prides itself as an OEM that designs and fabricates all its equipment in-house and is flexible and attentive to meet the robust demands of the African market.

Excellence dominates the design and engineering of the company’s product range and has resulted in the installation of thousands of vibrating screens and feeders at mineral sands, coal, gold, diamond, platinum, iron ore and manganese mines throughout Africa and beyond.

Joest was established in Johannesburg in 1976 by JÖST GmbH & Co. When it was purchased in 1989 by the chairman Gunter Vogel, the financially independent South African Joest successfully integrated local South African technology into the development of its product range to better perform in the harsh African mining environment.

Custom designs, undertaken by Joest’s experienced in-house design and technology team, ensure that solutions are engineered to the customer’s exacting application and processing requirements. All designs are backed by the OEM’s internal FEA modelling competency, the company’s R&D capabilities and a sophisticated test laboratory.

The manufacturing and assembly process is driven by the adoption of industry best practice and results in high quality products that are robust, durable and reliable.

24/7 customer service is provided by the company’s service centres and branch network located in all the major mining areas supported by the skills and resources residing at Joest’s 9 000 m2 headquarters in Spartan. Geared towards sustainability, the company constantly seeks ways of improving on current technology. This is evident in the refinement of its exciter gearboxes, to achieve an unsurpassed noise level of below 85 decibels.

In addition to design and manufacturing, Joest also offers in-house complete refurbishment of exciter gearboxes and vibrating screens and feeders.
