Komatsu Europe International N.V. is pleased to announce an important step forward in its commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction in the United Kingdom.

As part of its ongoing growth and development strategy, Komatsu Europe will transition its UK distribution operations from Marubeni-Komatsu Ltd. (MKL) to McHale Plant Sales Ltd., an experienced and trusted Komatsu distributor currently serving the Irish market.

Following completion of the transition (subject to regulatory approval), effective January 2026, the company plans to trade as McHale Komatsu in the UK and will assume full responsibility for Komatsu’s construction and utility equipment distribution, sales, and after sales support.
This strategic move is designed to deliver an even stronger and more integrated customer experience, ensuring Komatsu’s UK customers benefit from the highest levels of service, innovation, and product support.

Building on Strength – A New Chapter for Komatsu in the UK
In connection with this transition, McHale Plant Sales will acquire MKL, further strengthening its foundation and operational presence in the UK market. To support this evolution and reinforce long-term stability, Komatsu Europe will take a minority participation in McHale Plant Sales.
This shared commitment ensures McHale’s new role as Komatsu’s distributor for the United Kingdom is backed by both strong local expertise and direct collaboration with Komatsu, providing customers with greater confidence, continuity, and support for the future.

McHale Plant Sales has been a long-standing and successful Komatsu partner in Ireland, known for its deep technical expertise, customer-first philosophy, and strong commitment to the Komatsu brand. Expanding this partnership into the UK represents a natural next step in Komatsu’s mission to continuously evolve, innovate, and support customers with excellence at every touchpoint.
This transition marks an exciting milestone in Komatsu’s journey to further strengthen its presence in one of Europe’s most dynamic markets. The combination of Komatsu’s world class machinery, McHale’s proven distribution capabilities, and the dedication of Komatsu’s regional teams will ensure seamless continuity and an enhanced customer experience.

Commitment to Customers
Throughout this transition, Komatsu’s top priority remains its customers. Together with both MKL and McHale, Komatsu Europe is working to ensure a smooth and well-supported changeover, maintaining the highest standards of service.

“This is an exciting new chapter for Komatsu in the UK,” said Tadashi Maeda, CEO & Managing Director, Komatsu Europe International.

“By partnering with McHale, we are bringing together deep industry knowledge, customer dedication, and operational excellence to serve our UK customers even better. Komatsu’s minority participation in McHale underlines our long-term commitment to the UK market, ensuring strength, stability, and confidence for our customers across the country.”

Commenting on the upcoming acquisition, Michael McHale, Chairman of McHale Plant Sales added: “This is a proud moment for our team. The Komatsu brand has been central to our success in Ireland for many years, and with our enhanced distribution reach we are now in a position to bring our customer-focused approach, experience, and dedication to excellence to the UK. We look forward very much to working with our new colleagues to deliver on our plans.”

Looking Ahead
With McHale’s expanded role and Komatsu’s close collaboration, Komatsu Europe is poised to take its UK operations to the next level - empowering customers with advanced technologies, dependable service, and a partnership built on trust and shared success.
Komatsu extends its sincere gratitude to Marubeni for its years of partnership and contribution to the Komatsu network in the UK, and warmly welcomes McHale Plant Sales as the new official distributor for Komatsu construction and utility equipment in the United Kingdom.
