Name of the Project
Lake Throssell sulphate of potash (SoP) project.

Location
Eastern Goldfields of Western Australia.

Project Owner/s
Trigg Mining.

Project Description
Trigg has completed a scoping study that has confirmed the potential for the Lake Throssell project to be a low-cost, long-life producer of natural SoP for food production.

The project contains a total mineral resource of 1.39-million.

The development of the project comprises:

• the establishment of a trenching and bore network to supply up to 29 Gℓ a year of potassium-rich brine to the evaporation ponds for 21 years.

• 2 150 ha of evaporation ponds and a processing plant to produce 245 000 t/y of SoP;

• the supply of 2.5 Gℓ a year of process water;

• construction of supporting infrastructure;

• compaction of the product into a granular form and bagging it into one-tonne bulk bags before being packed in sea containers for transportation.

Life-of-mine production is estimated at 5.9-million tonnes grading 10.4 kg/m3  SoP.

Yearly production is estimated at 245 000 t/y SoP.

The product will be transported 350 km by road from Lake Throssell to the Malcom railhead at Leonora before being loaded on to rail and then 950 km to the container port at Fremantle.

Not stated.

Net Present Value/Internal Rate of Return
The project has an estimated pretax net present value, at an 8% discount rate, of $364-million and an internal rate of return of 18%, with a payback from first SoP production of 4.5 years.

Capital Expenditure
The project has a total capital cost of A$378-million.

Planned Start/End Date
